Warhammer Grand Cahtay concept art: Great Bastion Sentinels

The Great Bastion, also known as the Dragon's Spine is the impenetrable fortress wall in the northern border of Cathay. The wall is a quarter of a mile high spanning league upon league across the border and is the first line of defense protecting Cathay from the marauding northern tribes and forces of Chaos for centuries. For all the marvel of the Dragon's Spine, it is but simply bricks and mortar without the tens of thousands of fearless soldiers garrisoned that keep the defense system effective. While there are different regiments of troop that rotate their service to the wall, the Great Bastion Sentinels are permanently stationed there in the frigid boarders with their family living only a close distance away. Armed with spiked shields and one handed axe, the heavy armored Sentinels are experts in defensive formations. Facing harsh living condition and a ever present Chaos threat, they are the bulwark against the annihilation of their loved ones right behind the Great Bastion.
