Warhammer Grand Cahtay concept art: Iron Pagoda

While the armies of Cathay generally favors light to medium armor in response to many of her highly mobile enemies like the Hobgoblins and Hung horsemen, sometimes a more brute force approach is needed against the likes of the warriors of Chaos who are covered in sophisticated plate armor. The Iron Pagoda was Cathay's answer to heavily armored foe with their own equally heavily armored warriors. Designed to be a unstoppable mounted fortress, they are covered in thousands of overlapping iron plates and rides the fearsome Stone Guardian to battle. To combat heavy armor which bladed weapons are often ineffective against, the Iron Pagoda wields the sword breakers; a pair of solid iron rods with a hexagonal cross section and sharp corners built for maximum blunt, precise damage that can easily bend swords, break spears or crush the thickest armor in a single blow. The shape of these weapons somewhat resemble the towering pagodas of Cathay from which the Iron Pagoda derived their name.
